Audio only record

Audio dubbing

You can use your video recorder as a HiFi tape recorder. You

can record the sound from e.g. a HiFi unit or a second video

recorder.

m Use an audio cable to connectyour HiFi (stereo) unit to

the lAUXiNLRlsocket atthe back of the video recorder.

m Select the programme number from which the 'only

audio' recording should be made, using the I PI I or

I PI [button (e.g.:'AUX'for the lAUXlNLRlsocket.

m Press the I menu! button. The main menu appears.

m Selectthe line 'RECORD FUNCTIONS' with the menu

buttons I PI lor I Pt land confirm with the I -*• I button.

m Selectthe line 'AUDIO ONLY' with the menu buttons

I PI lor I Pt land confirm with the I -»• I button.

To start sound recording, press the [recorwoTrW] but

ton.

m To stop recording, press the I stop» I button.

m To end, press the I menui button.

Manual audio control

With the (manual I button you can switch to manual audio

control.

m Press the I manual I button on the video recorder. The

current selection appears in the display.

HI Keep pressing the I manualI button until 'MAN' (manual

audio control) appears in the display.

HI With the I PROGRAMMETland I programmeTI buttons on

the videorecorder, adjust the recording level so that the

'0 dB' mark lights up during the loudest parts of the

recording.

Atstep[|] you can switch back to'AUTO.'(automatic

audio control) with the menu button I -*■ I.

This function enables you to replace (dub) the sound track of

an existing recording with another sound track. To do this,

connect an audio source (e.g.: a CD-player) to the

I L-AUDio-Rl (programme number 'E3') socket.

m Switch on the TV set. If required, selectthe programme

numberforthe video recorder.

m Press the ImenuI button. The main menu appears.

m Selectthe line 'AUDIO DUBBING' with the menu buttons

n Selectthe programme number forthe audio source

(e.g.: 'E3'). Switch on the external audio source.

HI During playback, locate the position on the tape at which

the audio dubbing is to end.

rn Press the ISTILLN^ I button. 'STILL' appears on the

TV screen.

Press the IclearicuI button. '0:00:00' appears on the

TV screen.

Locate the position at which the audio dubbing is to start,

[iol Press the Istilln^ (button. 'STILL' appears on the

TV screen.

[tfl Press the I stop» I button.

Press the I RECORD/OTR'yi button. The video recorder will

start to record the sound transmitted from the audio

source. The normal (linear) sound track is re-recorded,

the stereo sound will remain.

The audio recording stops automatically when the

counter reaches '0:00:00'.

|i^ To end audio dubbing,press the I MENUI button.

To play back the audio dubbing, read the section 'Sound

track selection' in chapter 5, 'ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS'.
